Tommy DeRamus
Tommy and his wife Susan joined Shades in 2004, and Tommy joined the staff in July of 2019. Prior to coming on staff, Tommy served on the First Impressions Team, and now as Minister of Community Engagement he provides leadership and support for all the volunteers who serve to welcome our guests and members as they arrive on campus each Sunday. Tommy also serves to help build strong, positive relationships with area schools, first responders, and other civic organizations that Shades is connected with in our community. These connections help give our members opportunities to influence our community for Christ and fulfill the mission of our church. Tommy and Susan were married in 1984, and Susan teaches Sunday School in the Children’s Department and is an RN who works as a Clinical Research Director for a cardiology practice in Birmingham.
