Whether you're looking for a kindergarten in preparation for first grade or an extra year for your five-year-old to mature before entering a traditional kindergarten, we would love to introduce you to Shades Kindergarten.

Class size is limited to 14 students, ensuring that each kindergartner receives one-on-one daily time with the teacher. Our kindergarten focuses on social development, learning habits, oral language, reading, math, science and social studies, in addition to weekly Scripture memorization.

Extracurriculars include weekly chapel, computer lab, missions, music and Wiggles. Kindergartners also enjoy a field trip in the Spring.

We cannot say enough wonderful things about the ELC at Shades Mountain Baptist Church! We moved here from Texas in the middle of the year last year, and we enrolled our daughter in one of the pre-k classes. We loved it so much, that we decided to enroll her in the ELC kindergarten class for this year! What an incredible year it has been, too! The kindergarten program is phenomenal! We could not be happier! Our son will start preschool next year at the ELC, and he cannot wait!

I loved having my son at the ELC for Kindergarten. It was definitely the right choice for us. He attended school at the ELC since he was one and we were so thankful he was able to have one more year of Christian Education before heading to public school. The smaller class size allowed him to have extra attention and to form close relationships with his peers and his amazing teacher. Plus, I loved picking him up at 1pm and having extra time with him in the afternoon. The 9-1 schedule worked great. It was the perfect amount of time for him to learn, play and socialize but not too much that he was exhausted when he got home. My son transitioned flawlessly into 1st grade and is currently reading on a 3rd grade level, largely due to the wonderful start he had at the ELC.
