Community Life Center Policies

After the Bell seeks to provide a safe environment where children can grow spiritually, emotionally, and academically. Our staff are trained according to the Child Protection Policy of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. To read more about that policy, please click here

In addition to Child Protection, we have adopted in the 2021-2022 school year additional measures to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. This involves containing age groups in cohorts according to current grade. Each group remains separated from large groups and follows an updated schedule so that one group uses a shared space at a time. In between groups there are addition cleaning and sanitization efforts performed by staff to also hedge against sharing germs.

WHAT IS YOUR ATTENDACE POLICY?

Our vans depart the Community Life Center each day between 1:45-2:00. If your child is not going to ride the bus, it is your responsibility to call the CLC and let our staff know. Repeated failure to notify our drivers could result in your child being left at school. In the event that your child does miss the bus, it is the parent's responsibility to pick them up from school.

HOW MUCH DOES AFTER THE BELL COST?

Tuition for After the Bell is $225 per month with a registration fee of $100. Tuition is due at the beginning of the month, and is considered late after the 5th. We do not, at this time, have a discount for multiple children. However, if you choose to pay tuition in full, a discount of $150 will be applied to your account.

CAN I CANCEL MY CHILD'S ENROLLMENT?

If you need to cancel a registration, you must give a month's notice. Any paid balance may be refunded, but the registration fee is non-refundable.

WILL MY CHILD DO HOMEWORK?

Every child will complete, at least, 30 minutes of homework each day. This will, of course, vary between age groups. Any child who may need additional time can certainly use it. If you have specific tasks that you would like our staff to focus on during your child's time at the CLC, please let us know! We are happy to help with any of these needs. The goal is that homework can be completed here during ATB and evenings can be spent with family time.

Please feel free to call us at the CLC with any other questions you may have. You can reach us at (205) 823-2000.
