Are You Interested in Working at KidsKamp?

Why Are We Here?

We want all of our participants, families, and kampers to know Jesus. KidsKamp is a ministry of Shades Mountain Baptist Church, with the vision of sending transformed people to influence their world for Christ. We invite kampers who have finished kindergarten through 6th grade to participate in a summer of fun where we use the gospel as our foundation to explore and grow more into who God made us to be.

Join us as we create opportunities for kampers to meet with God, build relationships in connecting with others, and send them out to their areas of influence to live with purpose.

What Does a Counselor Do?

Lead Counselors are the discipleship leaders for our kampers. Counselors are responsible for a group of children, leading them through the day and challenging them in their understanding of theme materials and lessons each week. Counselors also get to plan and lead afternoon activities, we call tracks, that kampers choose based on their interests - like archery, cooking, sports, etc.

Whether it is through Bible lessons, learning silly songs, or exploring new places while on field trips, counselors have a unique opportunity to show kampers who Jesus is, not just with words, but in the everyday moments.

How Do I Become a Counselor?

What if you want to serve at KidsKamp, but you're not old enough or can't commit to the full summer? Volunteer counselor (VC) positions are for folks who have finished, at least, 7th grade and want to help with KidsKamp, but can't commit to being a lead counselor.
