Special Needs Ministry

Hand in Hand

We seek to provide each child what is best for them while at church

AS A MINISTRY, OUR MISSION IS CLEARLY TWO-FOLD:

  • To provide a loving atmosphere for children with special needs, where they are taught God's Word, they feel loved, and they feel secure.

  • To minister to the families of children with special needs by providing a welcoming and loving place for their child so that families can fully participate in the life of the church.

About Hand in Hand

Hand in Hand was developed to provide children and young adults of all ability levels the opportunity to fully participate in the life of our church. We seek to create an atmosphere where each individual can grow spiritually and thrive. Some children attend their Sunday School class and other activities with a Buddy (a volunteer to assist them). Others attend a self-contained class where they learn Biblical truths through a worship time, Bible teaching, crafts, and games. If you have a child or know of someone who you believe could benefit from our Hand in Hand Ministry, please contact us!

Weekly Schedule

Events

Hand in Hand hosts various events throughout the year. We love both serving our families and giving them the opportunity to serve. Some of our events include: Parents' Night Out, Moms' Morning Out, Dads' Serve Day, Family Day at the Pumpkin Patch, and Family Day at the Farm. Be on the look out for more information on our upcoming events!

Are You Looking For A Volunteer Opportunity?

Plenty of volunteers are needed for Sunday morning and several events as well. Take a look!

Parent/Caregiver Support Group

Hand in Hand support group brings parents together who share a unique bond: They all have a child(ren) with special needs. Our purpose is to support one another while also growing together in unity through the body of Christ.

We meet one Wednesday each month from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. during the school year. Childcare is provided for children who are not already attending a Wednesday night class. Support Group offers a time of encouragement, sharing of ideas, information, and prayer. Often, special guests speak on relevant topics such as behavior management, siblings, estate planning, and activities for children with special needs.

Anyone is welcome to attend. Please contact Amy Kirby
