The Community Life Ministry at Shades Mountain Baptist exists to use camps, recreational activities, and sports to glorify God; to reach people with His truth and love, and to equip believers to become fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
After The Bell (ATB) provides quality, affordable after school care for children in K5 - 8th grade. Our schedule is Monday-Friday, after school until 6:00 p.m. at the Community Life Center (CLC). Buses pick up children from Vestavia East, West, and Dolly Ridge Elementary schools, as well as Pizitz Middle School and bring them to the CLC for play, snack, Bible time, and homework.
School holidays should be fun and exciting. That's exactly what we do during PlayDaze. We provide awesome one-day camps held throughout the year on school holidays. Whether it's a teacher work day, Christmas Break, Veterans Day, or Spring Break, we have a ton of fun stuff for the kids in your life to do!
Summer should be a wonderful time for kids. KidsKamp is a ministry of the Community Life Center of Shades Mountain Baptist Church. We spend our summer together playing games, studying the Bible, and learning how to be more like Jesus. Between our awesome game room, our big screen TV for weekly camp videos, and our gym stocked with every kind of toy imaginable - we know your kids will love it here!

Players may reserve courts for a one-hour period by calling the CLC beginning on Monday of the desired week (Monday through Friday).
18 laps = 1 mile. Hand lap counters are available for checkout at the front desk.
Monday and Wednesday nights the gym is open for individuals to come and participate in pickup games
Come join us at 6 pm for dinner and Bible study, followed by open gym time.
The Community Life Center has a variety of facilities available for both ministry and personal or outside events.
Priority is given to church or ministry sponsored events. Please see the individual facility information by clicking on the appropriate link below.
To reserve the CLC for a Shades ministry event (e.g. Sunday school parties), please contact the office of the ministry. For example, if you would like to have an adult Sunday School party in the CLC, you'll need to contact the Adult Education Office.
