Josiah Roop
Josiah began attending Shades in 2020 and joined staff in 2021. Originally from Reading, Pennsylvania he graduated from Penn State and began a career in finance prior to his call to ministry. In 2017, he realized he was really a southerner at heart and moved to Birmingham. Josiah currently serves as Associate Minister to Children and Preteens. He is most passionate about gospel-centered Bible teaching and partnering with parents to disciple the next generation to “live sent” for Christ. Josiah is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. When he is not studying or discussing the latest YouTube videos with the kids, he enjoys watching college football, playing sand volleyball and baseball, kayaking the nearby lakes, and challenging rivals to epic games of Settlers of Catan.
