"And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people."

Today's scripture tells us that though the shepherds were filled with great fear when they saw an angel of the Lord, Christmas is a time to be reminded not to fear but to draw near to the throne of God.
