Your investment is taking the mission of the Gospel around the streetcorners and across the world. In this week's update, Pastor Danny looks back at GIC 2021 and takes a look at this coming Sunday with a special guest speaker and ManChurch. Take a look!
Hello Church!
Wow … what a great week of GIC! Fantastic face-to-face time with our missionaries and church planters, serving side-by-side together on Saturday, and feeling God’s presence throughout!! Our 20th GIC was everything we hoped … and prayed … it would be. Thank you for praying, giving and participating as we encouraged our missions partners and shored them up for the next leg of their journey.
As we debriefed with them on Sunday afternoon, we heard story after story of meaningful encounters and conversations they had while they were here. In every way, they felt loved and supported. We also heard from many of our own folks who were inspired by our speakers and missionaries and are beginning to do their own refocus and put their “yes” on the table.
You’ve heard me say many times that GIC is THE most important week in the life of our church and it’s true. Spreading the gospel across the street and around the world has to be our number one priority. Many thanks to our Missional Living team, our staff, volunteers, and missions partners for a truly great week! And thank you for the enjoyable trip down memory lane of twenty years of GIC. It is amazing to see all that God has done through Shades to advance His Kingdom!
Hey men, this Sunday evening, April 25th is ManChurch. We will meet in the Worship Center at 6:00 for a great time of praise and prayer followed by a message from our very own Bryan Gill. Bryan leads our Men of Shades ministry, is a published author, and a gifted teacher. At ManChurch he will challenge our men to “Remember What God Has Done.” So join us this Sunday evening and invite a friend to come along with you. If you can’t make it in person, log in from wherever you are and join us via live stream. It’s going to be a great night.
This Sunday, Jeremy Horton will be preaching in both of the morning worship services. Jeremy has been on our staff for seven years and currently serves as our Minister to Students. Jeremy is an incredible young man and has wisdom and insight beyond his twenty-seven years of living. This Sunday he will lead us through Psalm 63 and share how we as Christians are to respond when we are faced with life’s challenges. Our students and college kids know what a strong teacher Jeremy is—I can’t wait for you to hear him.
This past week during GIC, it was another reminder of how much I appreciate the entire Shades family and the way you care for one another, for the people in your sphere of influence, and those around the country and throughout the world. It’s a privilege to be your pastor. I hope this next Sunday you will participate in worship either in person or online.
