Life gets busy. Life can be hard at times. We have things that press our time; responsibilities with work, family, and friends. It’s so easy to keep our eyes fixed on all that happens around us. And as we live our lives, we are often so focused on these things, that they become our identity.
But what is our true identity? As followers of Jesus, Ephesians 1:1-6 reminds us that we are holy before God, not because of anything we’ve done, but because of what Jesus has done. The grace God has shown us gives us an entirely new perspective on our identity! A life changed by Christ allows us a perspective focused on him.
Take some time this week to reflect on exactly what the Lord has done in your life. Be mindful of the way he’s shown you grace and initiated a change in everything about you. Focus on how Christ, through his love, mercy, and grace, has changed you. Humble reflection will lead to eyes fixed towards him, and eliminate pride. A focus on him will change the way you worship, and will change the way you talk to others about Jesus. Be thankful, and know with confidence that you are a child chosen by God. Today, out of love and thanksgiving for Him, go share your story with others.
The world will descend on Birmingham during the month of July like no other time in our recent history. We have an incredible opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus and to share the Gospel with the world without leaving the comforts of our own home. If you are interested in an “at-home” mission opportunity with The World Games, mark your calendars for an interest meeting on Sunday, March 20 from 5:30-6:30 PM in the Conference Center. For more information about the games, visit www.twg2022.com.
