This blog is one of those new opportunities for the Missional Living team. Each Monday a blog will be posted with two purposes: to encourage you to live sent in response to the weekend sermon and to update you with opportunities regarding Missional Living. The hope is you will be strengthened in your relationship with Jesus and be informed about upcoming missional experiences.
The beginning of a new year is also the time in which many people establish new goals! My wife and I are a part of the “many people” group! One of the goals for our family is that, at least 26 times this year, we will have people in our home for a meal, party, celebration, or just to hang out. Some will be old friends and some, we hope, will be new friends. As Pastor George indicated this weekend, Jesus loves everyone and gave us a great example of showing love to people that were not always accepted by others. This year, my wife and I seek to be more inclusive, in our lives and in our home, of people who are different than us … people who may not always feel accepted by others … people with different values, different backgrounds, and different beliefs!
Would you consider taking a step this week to touch the life of someone who may be different from you? It could start with a prayer, an introduction of yourself, a conversation, or even an invitation to a meal!
May you live sent today!
