A Response to Racial Tensions

Posted by Shades Staff

In light of the recent events that have taken place in our city and across our nation, we want to express clearly that Shades Mountain Baptist Church stands on the truth of God’s Word and condemns racism of any kind. We believe every human being is created in the image of God and therefore deserves dignity and respect.

In partnering with God and his work on earth, we as a church seek to be peacemakers among all people and ambassadors of Christ, who came to reconcile all people to God.

We pray with the psalmist, who says,

“Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!” (Psalm 139:23–24)

Made in the Image of God

Pastor Danny's message on June 7 centered around what the Bible says on racism. Each person is made in the image of God, therefore each person has infinite worth.

Additionally, he sat down with Dr. Michael Wesley, pastor at Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, for a conversation on race.

Take a look at both videos below.
