Sunday night was the conclusion of the annual Global Impact Celebration with a concert from Steven Curtis Chapman. It was a fantastic week of encouraging our mission partners locally, domestically, and around the world as well as a time in which the church was inspired to live more faithfully on mission.
During one part of the concert, Steven Curtis Chapman shared the story behind one of his songs entitled “Cinderella.” In short, it’s a beautiful story of a dad being intentional to dance with his daughter because he realizes that one day she will be gone. Life happens fast and before you know it, kids grow up and move on! It was a powerful reminder to be intentional with people; to make the most of the time with your kids, with your spouse, with those you love.
In like manner, we heard from Bryant Wright on Sunday morning about “The Urgency of the Mission.” It was a clear, beautifully communicated reminder that the days are passing by, and we must be about making the most of them with the Gospel … in the neighborhood and in the nations. Life happens fast and we can get so caught up in so many things pulling us in so many directions that we can miss what is truly important! This week, be fully present with those in your life but also ask the Father to give you passion, courage, and urgency in sharing the gospel as you live the mission! Time to quit reading … go!

The world will descend on Birmingham during the month of July like no other time in our recent history.
