McELWAIN
ADOPTION UPDATES |
We have exciting news to share with you regarding the adoption of McElwain Baptist Church. First, it has a new name! The new church will be called Hope Community Church, and this name is rooted in our mission to proclaim the hope found through Jesus to the east part of Birmingham. Second, the church has a new pastor! Jacob Simmons, our Minister to Single Adults and Pastoral Care, has been selected as the pastor to lead this initiative. Third, on November 1 at 6 PM in the Student Building, there’s an interest meeting for anyone considering involvement with Hope Community.

DEACON
NOMINATIONS |
Each year, church members are invited to participate in the important process of prayerfully nominating men to serve as deacons at Shades. Nominations are due by November 4 and can be submitted by email to jbuchanan@shades.org, mailed to the church office, or dropped in an offering basket in the Worship Center.
